When I Add a theme through FTP it says style sheet or template missing

  • Hello, I have been trying to upload new themes into the latest wordpress. WordPress 3.9. I can not upload themes through zip files or when I try to upload through the FTP program it says that I am missing a stylesheet or missing template.

    I really need help with this.

  • Try to unzip your zip file first, maybe you miss file style.css. Or maybe your file style.css doesn’t support format well in header

    Where are you downloading these themes from?

    I am downloading the themes from dreamtemplates.com

    I have tried to unzip the file and that is when I receive the error that something is missing.

    When I upload the files in a zip, it will not show up in my themes.

    You need to talk to DreamTemplates about this.

    Thank you, you are correct. I just downloaded multiple themes from Elegant themes with no problem. I appreciate the help everyone.
