Hi, i added Simple Share Buttons – Whatsapp option with the CLASSIC SHARE BUTTONS tab, inserting the shortcode into a widget of my sidebar.
As expected it only shows on mobile devices, not desktop.
The issue comes when i click on it on a mobile device it doesn’t work, it tells me that i don’t have Internet connection (which i have).
The URL that it redirects to is: https://send/?text=https%3A%2F%2Ftrembol.com%2F%20
Can you help me with it?
    Thanks

    Hi there,

Thanks for your patience and apologies for your inconvenience!

I can confirm that I am seeing the buttons on your website in the Mobile and Desktop version.

I did a few tests and everything is working correctly, it is sharing the content of your website as expected.

Often times, when first installing our code, it may take moment to propagate onto your website. We also recommend clearing your cache if you still have further issues on your end.

If you have any other questions please let us know, but a great job on installation… the buttons look great!

Hi thanks for your answer, but unfortunately the issue remains for me and anybody else that i’ve asked to try in their mobile devices.
The error that the browser (Chrome mobile) gives me is:

    This site can’t be reached
send’s server IP address could not be found.
    Try:
    Checking the connection
    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

Can you please take a second look?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your patience!

It seems that this problem is not directly related to our share buttons, I found an article for this type of problem, it will provide you some details and steps on how to solve it.

    Error reference: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED ( Chrome issue )

Here is the link for the article:

    Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, while i’m afraid that is not the issue, because the post talks about my connection (browser, computer and operating system mostly for PC rather than mobile). The issue i’m reporting happens to every single person i’ve asked to try (with thier own connections and devices), even in different countries.

If you can go to https://trembol.com/en in your mobile device, scroll down until the Whatsapp button and try it, i’m sure it won’t work for you either.

I’m going to ask my hosting provider just in case, but i doubt it has to do with them.

If you can think of any other root cause, please let me know.
    Best regards

Hi, just a quick update, the hosting company told me that it has not do with them, but gave me the clue that the error probably comes from the way the URL is created:

    https://send/?text=https%3A%2F%2Ftrembol.com%2F%20

Looks like the browser interprets that the domain is “send” and that is why it can’t redirect to it
Is that URL the correct one that SimpleShareButtons creates normally?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your reply!

After carefully reviewing your case, I noticed that it is the URL that affects the sharing action as it is an invalid URL, with that in mind, can you try to customize or change the URL?

In this case, we can confirm that this issue is not coming from Simple Share Buttons.

Not sure how to customize the URL. I thought that the URL was created by the plugin, anyway i’ll try to research and see if i find a solution.
    Thanks.
