Hey, just curious, anyone verify updates before releasing them?

    1. Few of my sites simply break after the latest update, had to remove Yoast in order to get them back working.
    2. Enable media pages – We recommend keeping media pages disabled. This will cause all attachment URLs to be redirected to the media itself.

If you recommend keeping them disabled, as I always did, why do you auto-enable media pages on updates? always had that function disabled until I got a Href warning and guess what? 80% of my sites had that auto-enabled.

I know, everyone gonna say, you enabled it by mistake bla bla bla, no, I did not.

I slowly started switching. Good luck

    Hello @serpevil,

Thanks for reaching out; I’ve addressed your concerns below:

Few of my sites simply break after the latest update, had to remove Yoast in order to get them back working.

Can you provide detailed information about the issue experienced?

Enable media pages – We recommend keeping media pages disabled. This will cause all attachment URLs to be redirected to the media itself.

Is your website running WordPress 6.4.x and above? There have been recent changes to WordPress core’s handling of attachment pages. WordPress creates attachment pages by default for every attachment uploaded and we recommend disabling it.

This change?introduces a?wp_attachment_pages_enabled?database option to control the attachment pages’ behavior. So can you let us know if you recently updated WordPress?

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thx for your reply. All my sites use the latest WP version and the latest Yoast version. But, as an example, 8 out of 10 sites have media enabled after updates and still 2 of them have media disabled. I understand about wp recent updates, but in this case, all should have media enabled and not a mix. It is not a big deal but when you have lots of sites, it is pretty annoying to check all of them manually after you discover changes are made without user permission.

Anyway, in both cases, is not acceptable to auto-enable functions on websites without user permission even its wp or yoast.

P.S – regarding the broken sites after i update yoast to the latest version, can’t post them here because they are for adults.
