• I have been trying for the last 5 hours to get images, with captions that are links, into a particular page. I started out trying to use the WP gallery, which doesn’t show captions.

Then I activated a half dozen plugins, none of which worked. Actually, they may have worked only I couldn’t figure them out.

Then I migrated to YouTube. That provided two more things to try, but they required buying, it turned out a few minutes in.

They I googled for help and found Easy Photo Album, but it keeps given me a major error page when I try to view….

Do you have a suggestion? I sure hope so!!!

    Karen

  • I’ve been using NextGen Gallery, although I’m not completely happy with it. It’s probably one of the most popular gallery plugins for WordPress, and the new developers seem to have upgraded the functionality quite a bit.

However, I haven’t been creating a lot of albums with it lately, mostly because I usually upload my pictures to a Facebook page that is related to the site. I then use a plugin that creates the code which “imports” the pictures from the Facebook album so I don’t have to upload the pictures twice (once for the Facebook page and the other for the WordPress site).

Hi CrouchingBruin, that’s really interesting. Quite a long time ago someone suggested that I do a FB page for my Health Boundaries site. I started, but then got confused and wasn’t sure my site was one that “qualified”. I’m pretty bound by rules. Except when I finally get fed up and break free.

So, Can any site have a Facebook page? And, have you found that to be useful?

I decided to go with two images, 150 pixels each, side by side, so they’d load on a smart phone. Only for some reason they load vertically, which I wasn’t expecting.

I like linens, and when I’m depressed I like looking at linens and thinking how I could change the look of things, so at those times I want to put lots and lots of pictures of quilts and things on my page with linens. However, when I’m not in the same mood I don’t keep up with all the images, making them current. So, maybe it’s a good thing that I couldn’t find a gallery plugin.

though… I will try NextGen Gallery… It would be good to know about it before I have an actual, unavoidable need. ??

    Thank you!
