What’s the best way to set up a Google Map using this plug-in

I’d like to add a map to my page like the following example:

What is the best means to get the location from this plug in and use it in the map code? AJAX?
I’m already using the plug-in for short-codes in the page content and I do not want to hit the max mind source twice. If using the AJAX functionality, will I be hitting the database twice?
