What would you suggest me about the plugins which were not upgraded for a while

The plugins like Infinite scroll ,insights are very useful .But many plugins like these are not upgraded for many a days.Not only these two plugins many more plugins I have browsed yet are not upgraded for years.
What would you suggest me about such inactive plugins? SOme plugins are not being upgraded .But some users are still using them .
Can any body tell me your opinion on such plugins?
