• Hi there,

I’m wondering whether anybody knows if there is a way to find out what wordpress accounts, logins, usernames, pages etc are registered against a particular e-mail address.

The reason I ask is that I’ve been a member of wordpress for a number of years, but it has only been in the last week or so that I’ve been able to decide on my page name and get a website up and running. However, I know, I’m sure that on another blog of mine I’ve saved a load of posts which haven’t been published and I would like to get access to them but I just can’t remember where they are.

Any chance someone out there is a genius and could lend a hand?

  • Registered where? No 2 self-hosted WordPress sites are related in any way.

registered to either of my e-mail addresses.

I want to be able to put my email address into wordpress and it bring back all the wordpress related content, pages, blognames etc that are under it.

I’m not talking about self-hosted anything here.

So where do you think you are going to enter this email address?

    This is what I’m asking.

There is no site that you can use for this. For example, www.remarpro.com distributes and documents the WordPress application but does not retain any directory of WordPress users and it has no connection with any site running the WordPress software.

Esmi, thank you for messages, but you’re really just confusing the issue.

When you first go to wordpress.com and setup a blog it asks you for a whole load of things, one being email address.

    See here: https://en.wordpress.com/signup/

When you’ve set up the blog and you wish to return to it, you have to enter you email or username again in order to add or edit the blog.

So there must be somewhere in wordpress which links usernames or e-mails or both together.

Actually, I think you are the confused one. ?? These forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only. Please try asking your question on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

First I am clear that I am the confused one here.

I have a somewhat related question though. I’m confused because over the years I’ve been on wordpress.com and www.remarpro.com. I have multiple sign-on names. And even just as I was coming to post this I thought my login was AdminChuck. But then I reverted and used email to sign in it showed it as CoachChuck which is what I was actually looking for the information to go along with that screenname.

    So here is my confusion.
Are members/profiles on a site I run different from the profile I have here at wp.org?
Which would in turn be different from profiles I have a wp.com?

Are members/profiles on a site I run different from the profile I have here at wp.org?

    Yes.

Which would in turn be different from profiles I have a wp.com?

    Also yes.

WordPress.com and www.remarpro.com use separate user databases.

Every www.remarpro.com self-installed site also has it’s own user database.

Ok That took me 10 minutes to get signed back in to an account. This account.
Kept telling me my password wasn’t right. No wonder I’m confused.
    Password finally worked.

Now that I understand that I have profiles on both .com and .org that helps.

Now I’m grasping then that each site that I run has member profiles. Distinct from my Admin sign in.

I’d like to try and figure out which one of these I need to change to make it my primary. I don’t want to be posting as AdminChuck all over the place.

Will wordpress .com or .org (mainly .org) allow me to change my user name? From CoachChuck to something else? Do I need to create another new profile and then delete some of these others?

Will wordpress .com or .org (mainly .org) allow me to change my user name?

Sorry but no. It’s not possible. Nor can you delete old accounts on www.remarpro.com. All I can suggest is that you create a new account here and let the old www.remarpro.com account(s) lapse.

this seems to be getting more layered the more I dig into it. I have multiple accounts or so I think. I’m getting confused about a user for a specific site. my site I’m using I have like 3 different users.. all me but different passwords and sign login names.

I think at the core this is my main .org account. And that is great. But I’d like to figure out if I have already created an account under a different name or if I should just move everything over and let it lapse as you say. BTW how long does it take for them to lapse.

This account is the only one i have that actually has a picture/gravatar. If anyone is aware of an article that would help explain this to me I do realize I’m the dense one.

www.remarpro.com, wordpress.com and your sites are all completely independent of one another. You need to have an account for each of them.

Hmmmm. Ok I think I’m grasping it. But what about a site that I’ve created with this profile. Then I’ve signed on and created other users for it (thinking I’m using my wordpress account) but if I follow I’m creating another profile with the same name under that site.

I feel a multiple personality disorder forming. I really don’t need that many accounts. I am actually trying to maintain a branding message so if I do something in one space it stays the same.

So if I post on a blog somewhere I want it to be me, not one of the profiles I’ve set up just to admin a page from.

I can’t delete old accounts. But if I could rule out which ones I don’t want to use any more that would at least help me not try to sign on under multiple accounts on multiple sites

I appreciate your time and patience.

if I follow I’m creating another profile with the same name under that site.

Correct. Again absolutely no link between your site and here.

if I post on a blog somewhere I want it to be me, not one of the profiles I’ve set up just to admin a page from

But that’s how self-hosted WordPress sites work. Feel free to replicate the username & password you use here but there still won’t be a connection between the two logins. It’s also bad for security to use the same login credentials everywhere. I admin more than 12 sites. I use different passwords (and sometimes different usernames & email addresses) on each one.
