    Hello,

I’ve read the documentation & the FAQs. Still, I’m unsure if I should switch to version 3 because of the sending method issue.

As a free user of Mail Poet 2, I use third party Sendgrid. This works well. I have a photo blog, less than 400 subscribers, I send out 1 to 2 newsletters max a months. I don’t want to pay to sent out my newsletters.

Am I correct in understanding that the new MailPoet Sending Service available in version 3 comes with a minimal charge of 100 $ per year?

If I switch to version 3, will I still be able to use Sendgrid? Will I need to reconfigure everything?

    Thanks for enlightening me!

Yes, you can upgrade to version 3 and continue to use MailPoet with a third-party for free.

As you have less than 2.000 subscribers, you could even use MailPoet sending service for free:

But if you want to continue using Sendgrid, just make sure it’s properly configured here https://beta.docs.mailpoet.com/article/135-the-send-with-tab and you should have no problems and no bills ??

Thank you for your reply Bruna.

One last question, if I may. If I use the MailPoeet sending service with version 3, for free, will I have access to delivery stats like I now do with Sendgrid?

You can have access to the newsletters’ overall opened and clicked rates.

The detailed statistics and reporting (like see opens, clicks and unsubscribes for each newsletter or track campaigns with Google Analytics) are only available in MailPoet Premium plugin.

    Thanks again Bruna.

Hum… In that case, I think I will give version 3 a try, but with Sengrid.

Though I really like the idea of letting MailPoet handle everything, Sendgrid allows me to see unsubscribes and, more importantly, the delivered percentage as well as eventual bounces, blocks & spam reports. And all for free.

At least now I have the info I need. If my email list grows, I’ll reconsider switching the sending over to MailPoet.
