While all the law around GDPR and other regulation around Websites seem to be overwhelming, tools like Complianz come in handy, but they also come with a price.

    My questions are:
How is the liability of Complianz in case there would a “cease-and-desist orders” for not being compliant with any of these laws which should have been satisfied with the supplied legal documents and the promise of being “Compliant in multiple regions”.

Does Complianz hold a bond or any kind of insurance in case a client faces charges, which should have been avoided by using this service?

I know, this is a difficult topic, because a clients site also could get fined for things outside of the control of Complianz and the service offered. So how is this handled, where are the terms for such scenarios?

Thank you. Am looking forward for clarification in this matter.

    Hi @bestcases

With regards to the Complianz Cookie Consent plugin and the Complianz Terms and Conditions plugin: Both are created with the input of a legal team, and in the last 5 years there have been no cases with regards to the compliance we offer with our products.

However: Like all the other legal plugins here on WordPress, we are not allowed to claim that a plugin alone can create a compliant website. It can only help and support you or your lawyer with that task. We provide this plugin and the cookie database service completely for free, so I would argue that we (our open source collaborators and the WordPress community) are not liable at all should you decide to use the software.

If you on the other hand are referring to one or more of the premium plugins: We are not allowed to provide support for Premium features or to answer presales questions on the www.remarpro.com forums. Please reach out to the presales team via https://www.complianz.io where you can also find the Terms and conditions.

    Wow. Quick answer. Thank you.

Yes, I was referring to the premium (paid) versions in regards to my question.
That the free version would not come with any warranty seems logical.

Didn’t know that you guys on the forum are for the free version only. Thank you for the clarification. I did however try – prior my first post – try to ask this question via the website and the contact for. This however only seemed to work with a premium license key, which I don’t have yet, as I am evaluating the (free) plugin first.

@bestcases You can use this form https://complianz.io/contact/ You should be able to use that without the need for a license key.

On the other topic, maybe I should clarify: The WordPress rules forbid all the owners, developers and support reps of WordPress plugins to give support or answer questions regarding premium software on these forums that are operated by www.remarpro.com. If we would do that, we could get flagged or (worst case scenario) banned.

Thank you. That made it more clear.
