Hi! I’m trying to understand why I’m having issues with updates from Elementor.

I was previously running version 3.17.0-cloud4 and just recently it said their was an update for 3.18.0-cloud2. I did the update and it crashed the staging site and caused lots of layout issues on the site and in WordPress. It also caused issues with my Elementor Pro update that was also to updated version 3.18.0-cloud2 but the main issue occurred with the Elementor update.

On my system info it says that Elementor Pro is only tested up to v3.17 and that it is incompatible with Elementor.

I’m confused as to why I’m getting these updates when the version for Elementor changelog is at 3.16.6 and Pro is at 3.16.2 and according to the Github, BETA for v3.17 was only released 2 weeks ago?

I would definitely prefer to run a stable version of Elementor and only update when it is tested across both Elementor/Elementor Pro and WordPress.

  • Hi!

Did you try disabling Flexbox container from Elementor Features?

Latest Elementor updates , and as of now, Elementor will set flexbox as default. This means that columns and inner sections will be automatically converted into containers and with this setting most websites crashed, This happened to me !!!

You can always roll back to your Elementor preferred version. However my suggestion is to create a child theme so that major changes will not affect your website.

    Hope this helps!

Hey thanks for replying and suggesting the working on a child theme too!

So I got some answers from Elementor as the website is hosted with them as well. When I started building the website I had Flexbox enabled as I prefer that method but it turns out over time, some other Ongoing Experiments have been made Active which are still in Alpha mode and therefore not stable yet!

They were able to fix the corrupted file and the staging site is stable but it now makes more sense as to why I am at 3.18.0-cloud3 now as I have all these other features active!
