Everything I can find about “analytics tracking” is about making money, but our information-only site is a for a nonprofit that does not sell anything. I would like to know what information is being gathered about the people who subscribe to our newsletter. I had to set “Engagement analytics tracking” to “partial” or else everyone in our database was considered “inactive” and we could not send anything to them. But I cannot find a clear, complete answer to just what exactly “partial” analytics tracking consists of. Does anyone know for certain?

    Hi @craighaggart,

The “partial” option tracks only email engagement, such as open, clicks, bounce, unsubscribe rates, etc.

It’s called partial because any cookie-based tracking is disabled, including page views as an engagement to consider whether your subscribers are active. You can read more about all cookies used by MailPoet here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/375-cookies-used-by-mailpoet

Thanks for the reply, Bruna. We don’t sell anything, and our simple nonprofit site uses MailPoet just to send email and newsletters, so we have no need or desire to track anyone’s activity. I’m glad that the “partial” option does not do anything more than check for opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes. Even that is really more than we need, but at least it isn’t intrusive.
