I’ve used SportsPress for some years but I’m now at the stage where the manual steps needed are just taking too much time. I’ve always liked the familiar way to do things using WordPress tools but theres a price to pay for that and I’ve now struck the limit. Ive got plenty of capacity etc – our problem is way too many manual processes and lack of “proper” data management tools.

so..anyone had any experience in going to a bigger system – any suggestions?

    thanks in advance

    Hi @robynz ,

Thats a very interesting topic for discussion. Which steps are taking too much time? Is that happening because of DB limited resources?

    Thanks,
    Savvas

Hi @robynz, I’m currently working on a site which will provide just this solution. I have been using Sportspress for many years, but the way the data is stored is extremely resource-hungry on the DB. I am now at over 1,000 matches (with players, photos etc and everything else that comes with it), and my site is falling over.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

    Hi @ondi ,

I am currently the administrator of a site with almost 3.000 events with almost 2.000 players with a history from 2009. I dont have any problems and the site is on a sharedhosting.

    Interesting
Personally, I have over 1,600 games, 5,200 players. No problem on the match lists (regardless of the number of matches). But I have some problem with the list of players. I have a list of 200-300 players and it is common to have memory limit errors, but not all the time. For example, yesterday a list indicated memory error and today it is working. I already have 512 mb of active memory on my Ionos hosting. I think there would be optimization to do on the players (and player list)! (And I have 512 mb.)

    Hi @plou,

What info do you get if you use Query Monitor? How many DB queries you are using for a player list? Did you try a cache plugin?

    Thanks,
    Savvas
