    My website was hacked yesterday and I am now locked out. Fortunately I have Updraft+ free installed and I did a complete backup just 4 days ago, with everything stored offline.

    It is proving very difficult to get any help from the theme developers, or WordPress support in trying to solve how and what I should try and clean.

    Talking to my ISP I wondered about deleting the complete website, then doing a clean install of WP, followed by your plug in, and then recovering my site from the backup files.

    Is this a practical way ahead and are there any dangers in doing this?

    The ISP can’t tell me how or when the site was hacked, so although my access was locked out last night, it could have been a delayed payload and I wonder if the infected file would be in the backup?

    Any advice you could offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks for reading.

    Clearly I am not going to get any help here either!

    What a shame that the developers can’t be bothers to answer a question about using UpdraftPlus to recover a website after a hacking…

    @yugogardner Sorry for the delay!

    Are you able to login into WP admin?

    Thanks,
    Harshad
