• Before I purchased the pro version of this plugin I read a lot of glowing reviews, but the last few months have been a total disaster. With every new release there have been major issues that break something on my site, and sometimes they will release a “fix” that doesn’t fix things at all.

On top of that, out of the 15 or so premium plugins I pay for, this is the only one that cannot figure out how to allow proper plugin updates by pressing the update button. When there is a new update, you have to deactivate the plugin, then delete it, then go to their website to download the new one, then upload it and then activate it. Usually this is then followed by it breaking something, so you have to reverse the whole process and roll back to a previous version.

Are you kidding me? How can a “pro” plugin not have a way to update properly, like every other premium plugin the in the world of WordPress? it’s a pain in the ass for one site, but a deal breaker if you have a suite of sites – especially if they are manages as a group by a service like ManageWP because it can’t perform the updates.

I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes with these guys, because by all accounts they used to have a good plugin, but judging by my experience, and the reviews of others, something has changed. This plugin is a mess! It’s made worse by the fact that it really is the best looking social share plugin out there, IMO, but using it is a darn nightmare right now.

  • I used it to use it too, and it was a fantastic plugin. Especially for adding images that you wanted to surface on different social media platforms like Pinterest. But it slows your site down, and you can just add social media-ready images to the body of your content anyway. And now it doesn’t even work anymore. It’s sad, it was a plugin I really loved, but it’s time to say goodbye.

3.2.2 resolves the update issues according to their change log.

I apologize for the problems you have experienced as well as in my delayed response. We are now on version 3.3.1 and we believe we are stable once again. Please give us another try. ~ Christine

My experience as well and 3.2.2 didn’t resolve the issue. Today, the basic plugin failed to update and now all my custom settings are gone.
