What options are currently available in the WordPress gallery shortcode?

When using the shortcodes for the classic editor with WordPress 5.8.1 and Jetpack 10.1, neither the circle or slideshow type display correctly. Each displays a tiled gallery. Unfortunately I’m testing these in a localhost development environment not accessible through the internet.

I’ve tried to reproduce this on my site, but noticed the behavior was still the same even when Jetpack isn’t enabled/installed, so I am starting to think that this is related to the shortcode, or the WordPress Gallery itself.

I’ve enabled Jetpack and inserted a tiled gallery, just to verify the code inserted, and it wasn’t the same, which confirms that Jetpack isn’t altering the behavior of the shortcode here.

I’ll be submitting a report to the relevant team, and come back with more information if there’s anything to clarify.
