What next after installation?

  • Just downloaded 3.9.2. Now what? When I unzip the files and click on one of the files to open, it goes into Microsoft Expressions (which is the software I’m using now). Is this what it’s supposed to do?

  • It seems that you only downloaded WordPress but you haven’t actually installed it yet. Clicking on any of the files won’t install it for you, but rather open it up in an editor (in your case it opened Microsoft Expressions)

    All of those files inside are the pieces and parts that make WordPress work. The parts by themselves are useless until you put them on a server that will know what to do with them. Below is a link to more detailed instructions on how to go about doing that
