What method does WordPress use to download and update plugins? Wget? Curl?

  • Heya,

    I’m working on a plugin that downloads some files from an external server and I assume that if I use the same method (I’m assuming wget or curl?) as WordPress does to download and update Plugins; that would be the proper method.

    Can anyone tell me which method that is? Searching on Google didn’t seem to answer my question.
