What is .wp-config.php.swp ?

  • My site recently got hacked and I’m trying to weed out malicious files. Any idea what .wp-config.php.swp is? I hadn’t seen it in other WP installations. My gut says it’s bad, but I’m looking for a second opinions

    When I open it, it’s total gibberish (or encrypted?)

    Hi,

    the file seems to be a Vim swap file. Are you using Vim? You can deactivate swap files as shown here.
