So I went and bought a premium theme and after having no trouble with any zip files for free themes, there is one with a premium theme. SO frustrating. And then the page tells me to go see something called “winace” to resolve it. I couldn’t make heads or tails of what that site did or how I was supposed to interface with it. Why would a theme be missing the style.css file? What is winace? help!

  • Being a commercial theme, you will need to contact support where you purchased it. That being said, here’s my personal opinion:

WinAce is a proprietary “shareware” compression utility. If the theme directory you purchased really is compressed with the “Ace” compression format instead of .zip, then the folks you bought it from need a time out.

Hi Clayton, Thanks for your response. Interesting.

Well, that’s where I was automatically directed … Believe me, I have to written via every form of ‘ways to connect’ to find out what’s up. I still don’t really understand the Ace component (thanks for the link and now I know it is a compression format) vs. .zip.

I purchased it via Theme Forest which I thought was fairly reputable and it was either there or via envato (they are somehow connected) that an automated response suggested I try Winace.

Hope this gets resolved (soon). Thanks.

p.s. I’m also written to the theme creator https://momizat.com .

I am having the same issue. I emailed author with no response. I know he must have gotten it because he just updated the theme today. Did you ever find a solution. My hosting company tried to figure it out for almost two hours and said it was missing the style sheet. If you found a solution please post it. I am starting to get aggravated with this guy. Thanks
