What exactly did you try with ‘itsec’ ?

And is this a question for the free iThemes Security plugin or the Pro plugin ?

Try better-wp-security as the plugin slug.

And to answer your question above I’m adding this slug to the add_filter “auto_update_plugin” so that it updates automatically without my intervention.

Thanks for the clarification.

Note that the Pro plugin offers a Plugin Updates (and Theme Updates) setting in the Version Management module which enables automatic updating for ALL plugins (or themes).

Unfortunately is does not provide fine grained control …
