I still want to know what is the benefit of xfn, it is just limited to create a link with various rel values in link or there happens something more, from application point of view, behind the scene on saving the link in database.

How a site user will know about that relationship which is defined in link or it is meant for search engines for some purpose.

    Thanks…

    1. Other programs such as search engines and specialized services, such as rubhub, will be able to understand and display the relationships you share with other people, which is neat!
    2. Your weblog’s content will be more semantic, thus expressing more meaning.

these two statements are from link you provided. Thanks for it but how all this happens. How search engines or robhub will know that we have defined some relationship. Is it something like when we publish a post then a pingback happens, so is there anything happening behind the scene as soon as we create a link b.

    Thanks

search engines crawl websites for content and links, when they find a link with the rel tag, they tend to honor it.

thanks, and what about robhub? it asks for submitting site to get indexed.

And it means nothing special is happening as soon as we create link???

and specialized services, such as rubhub

    refer to them.

    refer to them.

It means, we have to submit our site url to them manually?
    Right???
It means nothing special happens when we save a link in wordpress dashboard
