• Hi, I have installed WordPress on my domain on my host’s server (hostgator). I’m able to access the admin to get to my dashboard https://www.sallycevasco.com/wp-admin just fine but I don’t know the path to get my blog to come up? I need to know the address to give others so they can find it. I used Filezilla to export my file from wordress’ site to my domain.

    Please help.
    Thanks, Sally

  • It should be at https://www.sallycevasco.com but you may have a index.html file that needs to be deleted/renamed.

https://www.sallycevasco.com is where my squeeze page comes up so I created a sub domain and tried to have it come up with https://www.blog.sallycevasco.com but I can’t seem to get it to work. I don’t know what path it should be to just pull up my blog.?
    Thanks,

I tried to rename the index file but then my squeeze page got messed up so I renamed it back to index. The squeeze page came back.

Thanks Ipstenu, I have been working on this for days. The reason this finally pulls up the configuration message now is that I just deleted WP from my Public folder and reinstalled it manually according to a video instruction I watched this afternoon. However, when I put in all the information to create the configuration file I get the following message:

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at hostgator. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

I’m using the database name and username and password that I just created so I don’t know what else I am doing wrong here to get this set up?

    thanks again,
    Sally

I can give it a shot for you. It seems like everything should be fine but it’s sometimes hard for people in the forums to notice everything.

    Hi jdkwebconsulting.com

Should I go to the above website and submit my information there and wait to be contacted by your company?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,
