wpStoreCart.com is currently down at the moment, but should be back online soon. I will be moving wpStoreCart to a new domain so that I can have one website for all my projects, instead of trying to manage 10 websites. This down time is part of that transition.
Yes, wpStoreCart is still supported and in active development. Version 5 is coming soon, and with it, all the paid features of wpStoreCart PRO 4.x will be free and included in the plugin here on the www.remarpro.com repository. This is something I promised the community from the very first version of wpStoreCart that I would do. I appreciate everyone who has paid for the PRO version over the years, as they truly made this possible. The PRO plugins were always open source LGPL, and wpStoreCart never made very much money regardless, so it’s a win-win for myself and the community.
Version 6 has been under development for about 6 months now, it’s a major revision which intends to fix the usability issues in version 3.x, 4.x, & 5.x especially the front end and the inconsistencies between admin UI page by page among a long laundry lists of improvements to make.
I hope to have version 5 ready this month, and version 6 in early 2015, but that could change in either direction depending on how quick development actually takes on both versions. Version 3 was the last major revision and it took me about 18 months to write before the public release. Version 6 shouldn’t take quite that long, but I intend to keep working on it until I feel it’s significantly better than WooCommerce, otherwise there’s no point in releasing it until it is, so the timeframe is still highly volatile.
In the meantime, expect perhaps an update to 4.x or two, followed by version 5.x very soon, which is just version 4.x but with all the optional PRO addons included, followed by several point releases to 5.x, followed by version 6 hopefully in early 2015. That’s the current roadmap.
Sorry for the novel sized reply!
