I purchased Yoast Premium this morning and 8 hours later I still haven’t been able to install it.

The ‘Take me to my website’ link in their post-purchase page takes me to a ‘Page not found’ error.

If I try to install the plugin manually, I get “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”

I have a plugin configured to allow uploads up to 16MB, and the file they delivered,’ wordpress-seo-premium-19.5.zip’ is only 4.7MB, so that does not computer. That plugin has worked on large files before, so when they told me ” these issues are usually related to your server’s specifications” I wonder if they even know that WP has a default 2MB upload limit.

I’ve been in touch with Yoast Support and they were sadly no help.

So maybe somebody in this forum has had a similar experience and figured it out?

    Thanks,

    –PS

  • The file size limit for file uploads is limited by your hosting. A plugin can’t really help here to raise these limits. Contact your hoster’s support for clarification.

That appears to be the case, though I did find a plugin that did the trick a couple of weeks ago (couldn’t find the same plugin this time and already forgot what it was called).

I did contact my Host, and they modified whatever .php file it is that put set that limit. I got my plugin uploaded and shouldn’t have that problem again.

BTW, my host is Knownhost, and their support is outstanding.

If I understand you correctly, they have already raised the limit? And yet the upload of the plugin does not work? Then something is wrong with the settings and I would recommend you to contact their support again.
