What is the purpose of a homepage section?

  • Greetings WPers,

    I’ve been away from WordPress for a while and have recently restarted my website. I’m using the Twenty Seventeen theme (Nice!) and as I’m moving along, building\editing pages, I’m confused by this thing called a Homepage Section. If you browse to my site, you’ll see the homepage, then scrolling down, you’ll see the homepage section, About, Blog and Contact. I’ve no clue what to put on the HP Section, nor why it’s even there. I’ve done some reading and am doing more research. But any thoughts would be appreciated.

    I made a couple changes…there’s four sections and I really only need three at the moment, so I’ve moved the Blog page to the top of the line and have left section 4 blank.

    That is a feature of that theme. You can put any of your Pages showing on your home page (hence the name homepage section).
