• I was trying to decide between Yoast and All In One but had not installed anything yet and found this plugin. I didn’t understand what this was supposed to do. Initially I thought this meant Yoast places an ad on your site like in the footer or in the post comments section.

Then I installed the yoast plugin and didn’t see that. I looked at the page source code and saw that yoast puts a comment into the source code. Then they have an end comment. It looks like maybe yoast is showing the start and end of their code on the page with a comment?

I don’t understand what the problem is that this plugin is supposed to fix? Or why it’s bad. Let me know thanks!

There is no point in this plugin. It’s kind of useless removing the Yoast SEO comments ??

It depends whether you are happy for yoast to leave comments all over your website source code! ??

You could also simply use a snippet as discussed here: https://gist.github.com/paulcollett/4c81c4f6eb85334ba076

I should also add that to be fair, Yoast does offer his plugin for free, so there may be a premium version that offers an option to remove all of the comments left by the plugin?

A developer has got to eat and no doubt the commented text inserted by his plugin, helps to drive traffic at his site (which in turn enables him to sell ad space on his site and feed his kids or keep up his coke (cola) habit ??

It’s not exactly a bad or unfair method of making a living (and I don’t think there is anything malicious), but I was surprised to see it in my source code with no clear reason given.

Perhaps if Yoast could clarify, in the interests of transparency – that would be good.
