What is the point of an image "description"?

  • I’ve yet to see any implementation or example of anyone making use of the image description block that is shown in the WP media library. Am I missing something here? If I want to show text below an image, it looks like my only option is the “caption” block. What was the point of adding the “description” block? Has anyone got an example that actually uses it?
