What is the good practice for uploading Understrap theme to live site?

I don’t have much advance knowledge of Understrap. I’m a newbie.
I have tried Undetstrap only in the localhost.
I want to try to upload this in the live site, but I doubt there are some certain configurations to set before deployment. Because I feel it won’t just run through uploading the theme.
How do you guys upload to the live site especially understrap needs Gulp?
I heard you need to use dist folder before uploading to compress all js support.
Any guys have advice?
