What is the first steps if you want to make a theme to sell?

    Hello,

    I would like to make a WordPress theme to use and sell. Can I get some advice on getting started on this and what the best software is to make a theme from scratch? Ideally, I would have a theme I can start with and expand with the look and options we want to offer.
