What is the difference between these webhooks?

I can’t find any documentation that simply explains what events trigger different webhook types. For instance, Subscription Updated seems to trigger whenever New does, but not when Switched does. So under what circumstances does New trigger, but not Updated? Or what triggers Updated, but not New?
