I created a page for events and added a featured image which is displayed as a header with the page title. As soon as I activate The Events Calendar plugin, the featured image disappears. Deactivate the plugin and it reappears. I’ve tried everything! Switched to different templates including the default template and custom templates (my-theme/tribe-events), tried editing the default template to add featured images, changed styles in TEC settings I even tried this same process on multiple different themes. Nothing has worked. The closest I got to getting anything to show up was editing the default template but then it displayed the completely wrong image and title (the first event listed in month view). There doesn’t seem to be any way to override this. I’ve tried searching in the forums but it is hard to tell if anyone is facing THIS problem or if it is another issue relating to featured images. Am I missing something? Any ideas?

All I can think of is there seems to be a conflict between WP featured images and whatever featured images TEC has implemented in the plugin???? Very invasive plugin if that’s the case. I don’t recall having this issue in previous versions. As of now I am using the latest v4.8.2

I am having the same issue, I’d like to add a featured image for the Calendar page so I can share better looking links from my site.

Well, at least someone else out there feels my pain lol. Exactly why I need this to work also.
I am completely baffled by this. Haven’t heard anything from TEC either. At his point I don’t even care if they only respond with a “hello” I just want a response. Some sort of explanation. Anything!?

    I found a workaround!
First create the page that you would like to have the events calendar on, then make sure the slug is different then the app’s page. ie: my page is /events-calendar/ and the app’s is /events/

Input this shortcode into your own page [tribe_events]

This will allow to use your own featured image and edit the metadata.

YESSS! That works! You just saved my sanity! And just in time too as I was about to give up and seek an alternative plugin. I had a feeling I was missing something. Go figure it was a little shortcode. The one thing I never thought of or tried.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching out ??

Sorry about the wait! We’ve seen a surge in support requests lately.

For those that do not have Pro or the ability to use shortcodes:

You can create a custom page template with your header image, declare it for global use and select it under Events > Settings > Display > Default template.

    Take care,
    Ed ??

Thanks Ed. Yes I have Pro and the shortcode gets the job done but this is good to know also.
