What is popular post in wordpress

  • I want to know what is popular posts in wordpress. I have a plugin which shows three tabs Popular|Recent | Comments

    Other two working fine but in popular tab I am getting only static posts. Which never change (at least not for last 2 months).

    Is anyone know what exactly is this and how it keep changes.

    Is build with the theme that i am using. I purchased it from themeforest.
    Name of the theme is Rigel.

    But the question is what is popular posts.
