I found header-img.php in the image folder. I did not see a reference to this file in index.php nor header.php. I can read PHP, but I can not comprehend what the code in there is doing.

I’m thinking of deleting header-img.php. What is it used for?

  • Note it’s always a good idea to mention which theme you are using.

header-img.php in the Default theme’s images subdirectory relates to the Header Image and Color options sub-panel under Presentation (when Default is active theme). When you modify the upper and lower colors for it there, kubrickheader.jpg is replaced by header-img.php, which dynamically generates the image based on your settings. It is called by a few PHP functions in the theme’s functions.php
