What is Category to Pages WUD?

    Hi,

    Category to pages is an easy to use Categories and/or Tags for pages plugin.
    With the same Categories and/or Tags functionality as it is for posts or with unique categories and/or tags for pages only!

    Explained
    By default both categories and tags are only limited to posts, so when you create a new page in WordPress,
    you will notice that there is no option to add categories or tags to your WordPress page.
    What this plugin does is that it modifies the default categories and tag taxonomies and associate them with Page post type along with the default posts.
    Lets say you have a category called “my category” that you use to sort your posts.
    Using this plugin, you can easily add a page and file it in the same “my category” category, so your page will appear in the category archive along with your regular posts.
    Additionally, you can use unique categories and / or tags for pages, so the categories / tags for pages are than different from those for posts.

    Adds Categories and Tags functionality for your Pages.
    This plugin adds the ‘post_tag’ and the ‘category’ taxonomies, which are the names of the existing taxonomies used for tags and categories the Post type ‘page’ or unique taxonomies names for pages only!.
    This enables the categories metabox and the tags metabox in the New or Edit Page interface.

    Shortcodes to display categories/tags as list in posts/pages.
    With adjustable Excerpts for pages.
    Related post /page shortcode: for post, pages and widgets.
    Custom post types added for the results from our shortcodes and widgets.

    danny, I would like to know if there is a shortcode that will show all the sub-categories under the main category. so let’s say I have vactions and I want all the vacation sub catagories to show only.

    Also Is there a shortcode for something that maybe appears in two categories. All family trips and Rome. both Rome and family are subcategory with separate parents.

    I would be very happy to have you contact me directly to alter this slightly if I i need to.

    Lastly, you need an option for the categories to appear under the content, not just under the title.

    This is a great plugin and with a few tweeks will be exactly what we’ve been looking for

    Hereby the answer in order from your questions.
    The first shortcode (cat/sub/page) is ready and will be available in the next release.
    The second (++cats) shortcode, still working on (even for the next release).

    Hi Pedro,
    The same here while i uploaded the new version.
    Just delete the directory ‘category-to-pages-wud’ and re-upload the latest version (which is replaced by the previous one).
    Something went wrong on the WordPress upload new version part, which i investigate now.

    Because of the problem of “Search Everything” (see post) I replaced it with “Relevanssi” which has more settings in the control of the pages and post to be returned in the search.
    In the settings of “Relevanssi” (Options – Search) it is possible to exclude some categories from the search results. Unfortunately, only the standard WordPress categories are available (post): the “WUD Page Categories” categories are not shown so you can not select them.
    Why are they not displayed? Is it a problem with your plugin or is it “Relevanssi”?
    Do you think that it would be possible to display the categories of your plugin as well?

    I suppose that Relevanssi does not recognize custom categories.
    I can add in my plugin, hide selection certain categories from the WP search.
    Is this a solvable solution for you?
