  • If you’re talking about using WordPress, stick with Linux. Your life will be MUCH easier.

Your hosting account has nothing to do with the computer you use.
    Always use linux hosting.

Use windows only if you are going to use a CMS made on ASP.net.

    linux by far

Don’t listen to samboll, get a linux account ??

Allright i′ll stick with windoze then.

    thanx !

No No. I was joshing there.

A linux account is most recommended.

In fact, some Windows hosting plans will not run WordPress.

    Get a linux hosting account.

Can’t say enough about Linux (and curse MS).

Geez MichaelH – gonna scare the newbie! ??

    That was pretty funny though.

@giorgiomartini – I think you have a winner. If you need help, you know where to find us.

The only real reason to get a windows accout is if you are planning on using ASP/Net or ColdFusion for your programming. WordPress runs strictly under PHP which both server platforms support, but WordPress requires a slightly different PHP configuration than normal. Under Linux, the normal PHP set-up works fine, under Windows things need to be manually reconfigured, something your host may not be willing to do. So if you’re just interested in wp, go with Linux. If you need the Windows capabilities, check with your host to see if they support a wp implementation.

    good luck

WordPress on Linux should work without any trouble. I’d definitely recommend a Linux hosting account.

sort of humorous what bites you in the butt :>)

    You’d think I’d learn!
