    Hello,

I find that most of my questions are not in any of the videos I’ve watched on Pretty Link Pro. I guess I’m a slow learner with this plugin, so please excuse my ignorance in this question:

I’m making a sizable eBook that I’m going to highly publicize, and I want to put lots of affiliate links in it. I’m afraid it will haunt me if I set it up wrong. (I don’t want Google to eternally nag me to fix links that are out of my control.)

The eBook links I have been making are ones like https://www.mysite.com/recommends/product-here ( /recommends/ being a virtual directory)

Scenario: Someone gets the eBook and clicks a link to https://www.mysite.com/recommends/product. They go to my website, and then they fly to the merchant’s site.

Do I want that or not? I see the benefit of hits to my site, but these will only be bounce hits, correct? Should I just send them directly to the merchant site with my affiliate code, and leave my site out of the equation?

Generally, I need to know: if you were making an eBook with affiliate links, how would you set it up? For some, (but not all) of the affiliated products that I promote, I do have posts on my website. My goal is two-fold: to get traffic to my site, plus send lots of visitors to check out the things I recommend in the eBook. I want to do both.

    Thanks for any input!

Yes, they will not even know they are on your site as the redirect happens very quickly. But it is just long enough for the plugin to track the hit so you can have some stats about what sources are bringing the most traffic.

So if you don’t care about the tracking, there’s not much benefit to using the pretty link as the user ultimately will not end up on your site anyways.

I think I personally would still use the pretty links, create a different link for each of my advertising sources, and then track to know which sources are providing the most traffic to the ebook.
