I have a shopping website to sale glasses, cap and watch.
There is an image with whole objects like this:

    https://media3.scdn.vn/img4/2020/06_20/RWtMHC3oZSY443HlzGak_simg_d0daf0_800x1200_max.jpg

Page 1 I SEO with keyword: Glasses. Page 2: Cap and Page 3: Watch

Can I use the same image for all 3 pages with different descriptions and alt attributes? Is it valid for Google SEO?

Can I upload this image 3 times (for 3 alts) or just 1 time for avoiding Google banning?

    Thanks for your help

  • Hi @mrhuynhanh,

    Thank you for reaching out.

We understand that you’d like to optimize your alternative text on product images. Since one image has 3 products, you’d like to use the same image for 3 products.

Are you using WooCommerce? The way WooCommerce product images work is that it only has one alternative text option, the one from the media library. When you would use images in pages or posts, you would be able to set a specific alternative text per post or page as you add the image as a block.

Since that is not possible in WooCommerce, a workaround can be to upload it 3 times, but that would have an impact on your storage too. In any way, the alternative text should be descriptive of what people see on the image. You can make one text that describes all products.
