What is a MySQL database??? I’m having trouble installing my word press

I’m just new like you, but I know how to do it.
Fisrt, you need to have a hosting account, get into your account (maybe you will find your CPanle admin) there look for DB section. You have a wizard there to set up a new DB, bc your account dosent have any type a name for you new DB, name and password, with this created, look for the wp-config.php (after you rename you wp-config sample.php) file and change these texts, then save and upload with all the WP files.
If you have dreamweaver you could see easily, better than in wordpad.

Do not use dreamweaver to edit php files. You must use a basic editor like notepad or equivalent as all others add extraneous code.
Also, you must add the user with all privileges to the database or you will not be able to connect.

Nonsense. I use Dreamweaver as my editor and have for years. It doesn’t add anything I don’t put there.

Am I mistaken when I think that caribe809nyc’s question is: “What is a mySQL database and where do I find the information”? Right then, go to you control panel / phpmyadmin / whatever and create the database that you want to use for your WordPress website. That’s the information that goes in your wp-config file.
