• We have a site that is tearing up the resources on our server. If we unsuspend her site, within a matter of 10 minutes the resources are in the red. So we have to go back and suspsend her again. This site uses wordpress and we arent able to pinpoint the area that is causing the problem? So we were wondering if we remove the files from her site, and upload a fresh install of wp, but keep her database would that be a step forward to fixing the problem or no?

  • You would need to have the wp-content folder backed-up and restore it afterwards also I think, as it contains everything that is specific to her site (themes, images, plugins etc.)

Of course, there is the possibility that it is something originating in that folder that is causing the issue in the first place (perhaps a plugin?).

I’d try a couple of less drastic things before removing the site completely. Perhaps you could disable the plugins from the admin screen and see if that makes a difference?

Ok, we turned off all of her plugins except the wp cache and within 15 minutes we went from like .89 on the server to nearly 4 and in the red. So, I suspended her site again. What do you suggest next?

Deactivate the WP Cashe and check. It’s evil.

Deactivated that too and it still went into the red… didnt take long either. What’s next?

Ok after some research, I tried by changing her theme to something else. And it is now staying like it should. However, some of her columns are not showing on the main page. Its supposed to be three column theme, but, the columns on the left and right are not showing up on the main page?
