• Hi there,

    Thanks for the great plugin! We have had an issue with all watermarked PDFs being stored on the server.

    For a test, I just deleted one and it was not then possible for someone to download their purchase. Would adding this code fix this:

    add_filter( ‘wwpdf_serve_unwatermarked_file’, ‘__return_true’ );

    I’m guessing not.

    Do you have a work around for this? The woocommerce uploads file is now huge and we need to reduce the size but need to make sure everyone can still access their downloads.

    I’m happy to buy the premium if this would fix this, thanks.?

    Out of interest, if we uninstalled the plugin, would they still be able to access their downloads?

    Hi @joshwillett,

    Thanks for getting in touch, and for using the plugin!

    Files do get stored on the server, but what you’re experiencing is a little unusual. What type of Woo file download method are you using? What server type are you using? I wonder if some caching or something is involved? Was it possible when you deleted the watermarked copies you also deleted the original copy of the PDF?

    Usually a request for any WooCommerce PDF file, activates WaterWoo for a fresh watermarking and makes a fresh file in that moment. The premium version allows for file recycling, but not the free version. So that whether the old files are deleted, or WaterWoo is deactivated, customers should *always* be able to receive the PDF. If WaterWoo is deactivated, they’ll receive a NON-watermarked copy. If it’s active, a new file will be created with a watermark from the original.

    You can set up cron jobs to remove files from the server periodically; more information about that can be found at web.little-package.com

    Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. It doesn’t seem like the expected behavior at all.
