    Hi,

Before I install the plugin, which looks very comprehensive and useful, can you tell us what happens when deactivating/deleting?

Often in past experience, plugins of this kind can leave bits of themselves behind, and the settings persist even if you don’t want them to.

This can become a problem if a conflict arises, as I found when using another well-known admin menu editor combined with a well-known membership plugin.

So am just curious, before I dive in here. Always a little bit wary of plugins that hook into the admin areas…

    Thanks

I can absolutely understand your concern.

Client Dash keeps all of it’s settings within the default options table. So after you delete the plugin, these settings will indeed remain.

BUT, these settings only pertain to Client Dash itself, not to anything else.

So, in other words, if you activate Client Dash, tweak everything and move stuff around, and then later decide it’s not for you, simply deactivate and / or delete it. Your site will be back EXACTLY to as it was before, as if Client Dash was never even there. Your options table will just have a few extra entries sitting around.

However, if you REALLY want to clean those few minor database entries up, you can hop over to the “Tools” tab in Settings and use the “Reset All Settings” button. This will remove all Client Dash settings entirely. Please note, this is not necessary, but I can understand it making you feel a little more at ease ??

    Hey Joel,

Thanks for the quick response and detailed info, exactly what I wanted to hear ??

I actually just took a backup of my site so I could try the plugin without worrying, and you have reassured me even more.

    Best,

I am giving it a whirl now, looks really nice and clean actually. I will be sure to rate it and leave a review. Am always in awe of the generosity of the WP community in making things like this available for all to use.

    Thanks!

    Hi Joel,

Wasn’t sure if I should start a new thread, but I have encountered a problem with the theme I am using and Client Dash.

I think the problem is actually on the theme side, but what has happened, is that the theme has included a kind of Add-on section for certifying their licence (via the CodeCanyon API), and is holds some other bits and bobs too.

When attempting to create an Administrators admin menu, it makes a mess.

Their addon can be moved using the Dash, but it creates a duplicate of the WP Links item.

The Links item also doesn’t actually show up in the Dash menu options.

The site is not live, but I really like the look and feel of Dash, and am keen to explore the Boilerplate.

Is this something which you can lend some insight into?

I will create a live stage at some point in the next couple of weeks, and have advised the theme developers of the issue and linked to your github repo as well as the website, but wondering if you can add anything to this question in the interim?

    Thanks

Hmmm interesting. I will definitely look into this.

Could you explain a little further what you mean by “it makes a mess”?

Also, the not showing the Links item is a bug in Client Dash and will be fixed on the next patch / release.

Sure, I will make a short screencast to demonstrate the issue.

I prefer not to post my screencast address on the WP forums so will send it via your website form..

Not sure where we’re at with this. Are you still having issues? Or should I mark it resolved?

Hey, thanks for the note, but I decided to stop using it because of the conflict.

    Cheers
