What happens to content if Theme Updates

I just started using the F8-Lite theme.

I’m adding alot of images and content all from whiten my dashboard.

I haven’t made any changes to the acutal code – and I don’t think I’ll need to.

I was wondering what happends to all my content when/if the theme updates. Do I lose it.

I’ve heard ppl talking about making a child theme to the parent F8 Lite theme to make changes. Not sure what this means.

Basically if i’m putting all this work into making the site i don’t want to lose any of my work.

What do you think?
