What happened to post format asides?

I’m extremely disappointed that I can’t find this in 3.6, and then I read on make.wordpress that it was DROPPED.

(hint: don’t index make.wordpress here with forum unless you allow people to post there. Otherwise, very annoying.)

I spent some weeks learning about the advantage of asides and editing CSS: mainly, that it saves so much time when adding a quick update, not to add category, title, tags, etc which are wearying when adding something fast.

Yes, I have twitter. No, I don’t want my twitter appearing in my blog. I want asides, that Mat originally started.

I read in make.wordpress that now I need a plugin for this. Yet, no link. I can’t find any plugin for the CONTENT posts, not the sidebar – not a widget. That’s another advantage of asides – they look different from posts, and break up the page nicely.

Or is formats somewhere and I can’t find it?
