Today, I’ve noticed two weird issues with images in my blog posts. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems something caused by yesterday’s theme update. I’d like some help solving it:

    1. Images on existing blog posts are now suddenly clinged to the text below them. It looks ugly..
    2. When adding a featured image to a new blog post, it is stretched widely and loses its original horizontal ratio. That distorts the image proportion and, hence, makes it look unprofessional.

  • Gutenberg column blocks displaying differently on mobile devices on two different websites.

These two websites are of different ages. The newer website correctly displays column block content on mobile using the screen’s width. The older website displays the content of columns with additional side margins, shrinking the content to the middle rather than using the screen’s width. Both websites have an updated version of WordPress and Astra Theme.

I have tried “everything for on and off for months” to correct the display on mobile on the old website to no avail.

    Please help!

    Sure, my site is lightliz.com

Navigate to the latest published post (about starting writing online) to see the featured image stretch problem, and look at one of the posts other than that one to see the images cling to the text below issue (I added spacers manually below my images in the recent post, so it isn’t shown there).

*The images that are clung to the text below them are not the featured images but the post-body images.

I just troubleshot?the issue with the dedicated troubleshooting?plugin, which shows that the Astra theme is the culprit.
The issue remains with Astra while all plugins are disabled and doesn’t occur with the Twenty-Thirty-three theme while all plugins are activated. Maybe it’s a compatibility issue with the recent Astra theme update and the?PHP?8.1 version installed on my site?
I also have distorted Pinterest pin images in the posts featuring pins. It also seems to be caused by the recent theme update, and I contacted your email support about that.

    Hi @shapress,

Thanks for sharing the site URL.

Please go to the Customizer > Blog > Single Post > Post Title Area then play around with the Image Ratio option under the Featured Image. Refer to this screenshot, please.

Let us know if this works well for you.

    Have a good day ??

Ok, so should I define original? Each image will look different that way, it wasn’t like that before. It automatically predefined the picture properly before the theme update.
Anyway, what about the other image issue- that there is no even tiny space between them and the text below them?

Hi @shapress, sorry for the delay.

As I asked previously, please play around with the available options. Decide to your preferred option.

Regarding another issue, sorry, I am not sure if I understand it. Did you mean on the existing Posts, the Featured Image no longer has bottom space, causing the text underneath to be located very close?

Please try to rollback the theme to the previous version. If this is happening in the recent update, rolling back to the previous version should fix it. You can use a plugin like WP Rollback to rollback with ease. Also, please do the rollback on a staging site environment, so your live site will remain untouched.

Please let us know how you go.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

I’m in contact with your Brainstorm team via email. I hope they will also fix these issues in the upcoming update release as promised.
