My site depends heavily on your snippets and after the last upgrade they became non-editable. It seems I’ll have to extract them directly from your database table and insert back into the source code. What a disaster.

What version did you update to (and from)?

    Hi,

WP 4.7.4, snippets 2.8.3, so both most up-to-date. I don’t remember the previous version, this was the today’s upgrade. As for now, all the snippets are working, but there is just a string “Network active” below each snippet name and there is no edit link.

I deactivated all the other plugins, leaving only snippets active, did not help.

Ah okay, I see. I’ll get right onto see if I can reproduce and fix this.

    Cheers.

I’ve just released version 1.8.4 which should fix this. Thank you for reporting it straight away!

Cannot find your plugin on www.remarpro.com and the auto update in Admin area is trying to update to 2.8.3.
If I click on the View Details about the update it shows:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

What should I do it says you are trying to release 1.8.4 ???

Hooray, works again! There was a moment when I was already “getting cold feet”, as the Germans say, but you fixed it really quickly.

FYI: I am using “snippets” mostly for action hooks and filters, so that:

    1. I can switch them easily on and off, much like options
    2. This usually implements the customisable part of other plugins, if their authors were kind enough to provide action/filter hooks.

You are certainly aware of all that stuff, it’s just to reassure you that what you are doing is important and useful.

you should continue to update when new versions are released – so yes, please update to 1.8.4.

The plugin has been removed from www.remarpro.com temporarily following the discovery of a possible XSS breach. The new versions patch this, and the plugin should be available on www.remarpro.com as soon as the Plugins Team are able to review it.

I do have to apologise about this. I was rushing to get a new version out after the plugin was removed, and I included code for a new feature I hadn’t tested completely. So I’m sorry for any inconvenience the breakage might have caused.

And thanks for letting me know how you use Code Snippets – it’s nice to hear that it is being put to good use.
