Impossible to say without at the very least a screenshot.

    What did you change?

How do I include a screenshot in this post?

Have made no changes to the Dashboard. Have done a post and replied to Comments.
Have had minor problems with the Dashboard since last up grade to 3.4.1

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Dwactivating Plugins did not help, it made even less choice avialable in dashboard sidebar selections.

And the rest of the steps?

From the dashboard I can not access WP to do an upgrade. will have to do it manually from Cpanel. Using Bluehost Assuming I will have to rename wp-content folder then replace the new one with it after download.

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

All of that did not change any thing. Dash board is still the same. Am going go to Plugins folder and delete the ones we know we don’t use and then try turning off one at a time. Any other suggestions.

OK that did not work either. Some plugin work and others don’t. From the Dash board can’t access Themes to try changing. Spam blocker not working, comments of all kinds on old posts. I think we have been hacked.

Is there a way we can save the Data Bases and them blow out the blog and start from scratch then attach then attach the data bases?

    Thanks for the help,
    John

Blog now working, lost the last post but easy to re post. Blue host restored to a good version a few days back. Found error in a plugin, deactivated and error gone.

    Thanks for the help,
    John

I just updated to the most recent WP and now the dashboard is missing everything except: Posts, Media, Comments, Profile and Tools.
I can’t access anything else, so I can’t even deactivate plugins- any advice?
have a clean new install of the WP files.
