what folder are my images in?

I have uploaded a picture/graphic within the text box provided in my WordPress template . . . in fact, after making about 5 changes to the graphic uploaded, I decided it would be best to delete the four unused versions of the same. After checking EVERY folder within my domain using FTP access, I could not locate where the pictures/graphics were stored. Can anyone tell me where the pictures/graphics are stored within WordPress?
