Aren’t I supposed to have a www, public_ftp, public_html and other folders and files at root level? Besides the WP files? I’m afraid I cleaned out root on the server to re-install, and have copied my WP folder contents to truckeedonnerphotos.com/ and install is not working, nor is truckeedonnerphotos/index.php showing up.

    Thanks..

Sorry if I’m repeating an earlier question – an earlier post says a fresh install of wp to otherwise empty root directory will do the trick. If anyone can confirm this is right, I really appreciate it! Here is earlier post.

Well, the blog is working with WP files in public_html. There were other files at root before I deleted everything – public_ftp and others – could this be what is causing function errors when I try to display pages? Thanks again

Well, you should NOT delete everything (things like public_ftp or anything else) that was placed there by your host)!
You should never touch anything that you don’t know what it is…

All you care about is your public_html folder – the name is quite self-explanatory: that’s the part tha will be seen by the “public”.

Ask you host to restore all the things you have deleted.

Next, always give a link when asking display related questions!

sorry for the duplicate post, I will ask bluehost to restore root contents and leave public_html with the WP installation. THANK YOU
