There is an extra “<” in my code for some reason and the < appears right next to my title. I can’t edit that in the options menu, i need to know which file has the code that contains the page title so i can delete that <. when i click “view source code” in firefox I can see the mistake in the html, but i go to the editor and I can’t find it. It not in header. INfact header stops about 5 lines before where the code would be deisplayed.

So you mean that, in your current theme, the header.php file does not have the <h1><a href="<?php echo get_option('home'); ?>/"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a></h1> line?

If it isn’t then this line is in several theme files such as Single Post, Main Index, Archive, Page Template, Search Results, etc.
