Thanks for the great plugin. First tests were successful. But there’s one important question: What exactly triggers the email sending? An item in the cart wouldn’t be enough, since email and name are not known at this point. Are the emails sent after an user filled in name and email and THEN abandoned the checkout page?

  • I have a similar question. As the email address is only captured after submitting the last page of the WooCommerce checkout, it won’t be available to the Abandoned Cart plugin if the user leaves at the checkout page without proceeding with the purchase.
Would a multi-step checkout allow this plugin to record the user’s email before they get to the payment section?
If so, I’m thinking of switching to a Shopify-style checkout (https://woolentor.com/shopify-style-checkout-page-in-woocommerce/) as the user’s details are captured in the first stage.
Please let us know if this would work, or if the WooCommerce Cart Abandonment Recovery plugin can capture a user’s email even if they haven’t submitted the checkout form in WooCommerce.

    Hello @cutu234 / @gcattley,

Once you installed the plugin, when a user visits your checkout page and enters their email, the plugin catches the email and waits until the cut-off time [you can modify the cut-off time on the plugin settings page].

The default cut-off time is 10 minutes, after 10 minutes if the order is not placed, an abandoned order is created and the plugin sends emails as per your email template settings.

You can create a number of emails and define when to send the email.

    Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns left unanswered as I would be more than happy to assist you further.

    Thank you.
Is your plugin compatible with the Shopify-style checkout plugin at (https://woolentor.com/shopify-style-checkout-page-in-woocommerce/)?

    Hello @gcattley,

    Thanks for writing back.

We haven’t tested it with that plugin. However the change in checkout layout style should not effect the working of Cart abandonment plugin.

You can give it a try. In case you face any issue, You can open a new thread.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great day ahead!
